Subletting an apartment by an international student
    Hi!
I'm an international student currently on F-1 visa in the US. If I sublet the apartment I'm renting in the US for the summer to another person, am I going to be in violation with my F-1 status (is it considered individual business or something like that)? Also, do I have to pay taxes on the money I receive from such kind of sublease?
    Thanks!

It is rent sharing. Two people can share an apartment and share the rent paid. It is not a business.

Agreed; you are merely offseting rental expenses by sharing the rent.

There is no profit and no business income, and the IRS and USCIS could not care less! :-)
