Any time the fan motor does that it is turning off on the internal overload in the motor. It could be any one or two of these items
Motor overloaded because the motor purchased for the replacement was not the correct one/size/horse power.
Wrong size/weak capacitor for the motor
Fan blade installed improperly
Defective motor no mater how new it is.
Low voltage getting to motor
Motor turning in wrong rotation.
Motor mechanically stuck/fan blade hitting unit/not turning.
Motor bearings usually sleeve bearings out/defective.
There are other possibilitys but check these out first.
When fan motor runs check amp draw with amp clamp,(Fluke has a T-5 meter that will check ac amps ac/dc volts etc. for a cost of approx. $85. Check your motor template to see what your fla. Is and then check what the motor amp load is when running, your amp draw should increase the longer your motor runs, check also the motor rpm, should be around 1750 rpm, if significantly lower than that check motor template again maybe you have the incorrect style and size of motor than what equipment calls for. Again just because motor is new does not mean its good.
