All of a sudden Internet Explorer claims that the file snmaster.idx need to be "recovered" for Explorer to function. I don't know what that file represents or how it was lost. How do I get it back and what happened to the one I presumably had?

That file is associated with AOL, to get the file back, you need to completely uninstall AOL and then reinstall and during reinstall, sign up with existing account info
