I just recently had some blood work done, my urinalysis came back with some blood in it, but I was not close to my menstrual, so the doc told me to get the urinalysis redone, I have been having some cramping and I have had a lot of bacterial vaginosis recurrence going on, he prescribed me ciproflaxocin I believe that's the name.

I went to my gynecologist about a week ago and she told me it still looked like I have some bacterial vaginosis (I had an infection in June and was prescribed clindomycin) so she prescribed me clindomycin again, now when I went to the pharmacist and asked him if I should be taking clindomycin and ciproflaxocin together he told me NO that he is unsure of why my doctor would say it's OK, although they don't interact but the pharmacist said ciproflaxocin should take care of everything cause it is a strong medication.

I asked my doc if it can be a bladder infection because I have had frequency of urination, but he said my bladder nitrates came back fine. So what can possible blood in urine be an indication of?

Well there are several things that can cause blood in urine, bladder infection, kidney infection and a uti. Call your doctor and ask about the meds and go from there.

Mamar, blood found in urine from a simple urine test is not a big deal. It could not be detected by looking for it. This type of blood in urine can be caused by strenuous exercise, so when your doctor said your bladder nitrates came back okay, then don't worry about it.

Your pharmacist, as far as I am concerned, should not have made a statement regarding your doctors orders. If you were unsure of the meds, then you should have asked your doctor.

If you have bacterial vaginosis, follow your doctor's prescribed medications.

You are not bleeding internally, if you were to see blood coming along with your urine in the toilet, then worry, until then, follow your doctor's orders.

Right, so I should call him Monday since I am going to get the answering service today, but that is a lot of meds, cause the clindomycin is 300 mg three times a day and the ciproflaxocin is 500 mg twice a day

Also why would he send me the cipro not knowing if I have an infection for sure? Wouldn't that harm my health?

I'm going to respectfully disagree here. The pharmacists know all of the counteractions and contraindications when it comes to ANY kind of medicine. Much more so than the doctors do. We always confer with our on site pharmacy whenever we question a doctor's orders.

I just had a bad feeling about it that's why I asked, I am going to call my doctor tomorrow though, and tell him what the pharmacist said.

Blood (white blood cells) can be in the urine for many reasons. A dirty clean catch for example.

What other reasons? Serious reasons?

So I have been taking the ciproflaxocin for three days now, and today I am having horrible cramps, I am going to my gyno tomorrow.

And I am stopping the meds until I know what I really have, cause I don't know about that physician he didn't know if I have an infection just told me I have blood in my urine and prescribed me some meds, that's kind of careless to me, the meds itself says "its only used to treat serious infections"
