How long should you wait before you paint or stain treated lumber??

It varies depending on how soaked it is, and what your weather is like, when you get it.

We typically just wait until the next year to be sure. Save a few scrap pieces and when you think it might be dry enough, paint or stain a scrap to see if it applies and dries well.

Hi! After we built our home we waited till the next year before we stained it over. We didn't think it looked all that bad at first but the following year it started to look like it needed a lift. We've been in our home now for ten years and believe it or not this year I painted it. Got tired of the same look. I think it still looks just as good.
