I take it you are supposed to solve for x?
Well, in case you haven't read the rules, we can't do it for you. We can only help you learn to do the work.
So, without further ado, here are the steps to solving a linear equation:
1: Multiply through parenthsis
2: Move all the X's to one side, everything else to the other.
3: Combine Like terms.
4: Get X by itself.
I'll show you a similar problem as an example.
3(x-2)+4=x-4(x+2)
Step 1:
3x-6+4=x-4x-8
Step 2:
3x-x+4x=6-4-8
Step 3:
6x=-6
Step 4:
x=-1
Now, do the same thing with your problem. :)
