Transferring child custody to 2 different parents
I have custody of my 2 granddaughters, same mom different dad's. My son is the father of the younger one. The oldest one want's to live with her mom. The younger one want's to live with my son after the next school year, both parents are agreeable with this. I currently have custody of both children, my question is how can the mother sign over her rights of the younger one without going to court twice. I am filing with the court to return custody to each parent, can she have something signed and notorized for when my son and I go to court for the youngest, so that she would not have to appear twice. She lives in a different state.

What kind of custody do you currently have ? Are you the guardian for these children or were they adopted by you ? That's what is going to make the difference in the answers you receive. Many that come here call it custody and have never been to court. We really need to know the status so we can give you a good and informed answer.
