Matching hair colour with formal dress
Hey everyone, okay so I have my formal this year and I'm not sure what colour would suit best with me. I've got brown hair that's been mainly foiled blonde and I have light brown eyes, I tan well so I'm average but could be darker easily. Do you know what colours would go best? Thanks heaps! :)

Does your skin have a yellow undertone or a pink one? If yellow then go with warm colors such as pink red orange, if pink go with cool colors like blue or green. And when in doubt wear purple because it looks fantastic on everyone! Its not as much of the color of the garment that you need to pay attention to, it's the cut and silhouette of the dress. If you describe your body type I can help with that too :)

Yellow undertones will go lovely with warm colors and the warmer side of cool colors... so red, orange, yellow, green and you can wear purple too! And for an hourglass shape the most flattering would be a ball gown or an a-line skirt. Also to even out your bottom with your top, if there are any embellishments on the top of the dress it will make you look more proportionate. :) when is the event? And how formal is it?

Ohh okay thank you heaps for this, I've still got about 4 or 5 months to find a dress I love :) well I'm in australia so we call it a formal but I'm guessing in america it's a prom... but yeah just a dance for the seniors, I can't wait hahah. I've been looking online and there's this dark blue/grey dress with embellishments as the top along the sweetheart neckline and it's a thick strap halterneck then it gathers to the left below your hip with a diamonte clip and ruffles out from there.. I'm going to try find something like it because it looks so beautiful :)

    That sounds perfect!!
I don't know what your budget is but you can probably take that picture to someone who is a dressmaker and they can custom one for you for probably 500-700

From what discription you have given and with your hair I believe a deep green dree would wor best!
Also a big thing is working out what colur your blonde is actually at because colours can clash and also inhance unwanted tones! Use colour wheel for anything works!
