What do I need to know exactly if my job requires basic bookkeeping knowledge?

I would assume you can manage records.
Organization, alphebetation, that sort of stuff.

You posted this in accounting. However, if you meant bookkeeping as in BOOKS, then I would study up on the dewey decimal system.
