I have a Whirlpool Heavy Duty Super Capacity Plus washing machine, and every once in a while it will freeze halfway through the washing agitation cycle. It won't advance, and when I try to do it manually, it won't respond - it won't go into spin, if I put it into rinse it won't continue agitating etc.

The only thing it will do is if I reset the washing back to a spot previous to the spot it always gets stuck, it will agitate to the sticking point again.

Then, after maybe 5-10 times of resetting it back to a point before the sticking point, it will advance all the way through all the rest of the cycle.

I don't know a lick about washing machines but I'm pretty handy in other ways, was hoping somebody could give me a clue as to where to start here.
