I am a father of two. I pay child support and until recently have been fortunate to see my children when I wanted to. There mother and I weren't married but are separated now. Well I got a call from my ex last week and she left a nasty message on my phone saying that she is sick of the situation we have with our children's back and forth parenting and she said that she didn't want them to come with me anymore and she is moving soon and she's not going to tell me where she's moving. Also , when I called there every time they always wanted to talk to me now all of a sudden they don't. In more words or less I can not see my children. Well I've tried to contact her and she doesn't answer her calls. I just want to know what I can do. I want to see my children. They mean more to me than anything. She says I don't have any rights with my children. What Can I Do?!

Get a lawyer and get into court and file for joint custody and whatever visitation you want... like today.

Is your child support court ordered? How about the visits you had? Once a court orders these things, what she wants/thinks become irrelavant.

Thanks for the advice. I have contacted a lawyer and am starting the process. My child support is court ordered. The visits I have with my children are always filled with fun and love. I am a good father and want to be a part of their lives and have been until recently when there mother pulled this.

Are any of the visits court ordered? The reason I ask is because if she denies any court ordered visits, she is in contempt of court. In addition, if she moves without court approval she can also be cited for contempt and be compelled to move back. Furthermore, if she moves and doesn't tell you where, she can be arrested and prosecuted for parental kidnapping.

Speak with your lawyer about filing for an emergency hearing. That should stem her plans to flee until something more permanent can be set up.

The bottom line is that she is wrong when she says you do not have any rights. You have as many rights as she does. You just need to fight for them.
