My computer recognizes the cd drive but will not read the cd. It was reading fine a few days ago and it just quit.

Have you tried other discs?

Have you restarted the Pc since happening?

Any changes that either happened or that you perhaps made to your computer around the time that the problem started; particularly any Software or Hardware that you installed or setup.

If this is the original dvd drive that came with the PC, ensure that the I/O cable is properly connected to the drive and motherboard.

Have you updated your dvd drivers recently?
