    Hearing sound from Pioneer VSX519V receiver from Panasonic TCP50X1
    I have everything hooked up including 4 speakers-2 front connected to the front speaker connections on the receiver and 2 rear connected to the surround connections. I have no center speaker. What settings do I use on the receiver and the TV to listen to TV through the receiver and right now I can't even get an fm station to play.

    Ok Patty, if you can't even hear the FM tuner, we need to sort that out before you have any hope of hearing the TV sound. Because the FM tuner is internal to the receiver, there's no special connections or setup to do (other than tuning the stations, of course - see page 40 of the manual), so it should make some sort of noise straight-up.

    Are you sure the speaskers are turned on (SP->A on the display - see page 23 of the manual)? I have to say the Operating Instructions are abysmal when it comes to details. For example, it's not clear whether you must use the INPUT SELECTOR to select 'tuner' (or some such) before you can hear the radio, or whether you just press the BAND button to select AM/FM etc to switch the input to the tuner.

    Do you have some sort of display indicating that you are on FM (e.g. a station frequency in MHz)? Is the 'TUNE' indicator lit, showing that you have a station tuned? It might help if you could photograph (close-up, perhaps in two halves horizontally) your actual receiver's display and post it here so we can see what indicators are lit, etc.

    I know this is tedious and frustrating, but don't give up too soon. Provided the receiver is not faulty, we should be able to get it working for you with a little patience! ;)
