Has anyone ever heard of "RS-285" cable?
Has anyone ever heard of "RS-285" cable? Could this be like the RS 485 and RS 232 electrical cables.

    KISS

    RS-285 is probably a typo. Besides RS-232 and RS-485 are not cable. CAT 3, 4, 5, 5e, 7 etc are cable standards.

Telephone uses CAT 3 or better cable.
Ethernet CAT 4 or better depending on the standard. e.g. 10baseT, 100baseT, 1000baseT.

The 100 is for 100 mb/sec, base is base, T is twisted cable

Pass me the 1000baseT cable. What? Pass me the Ethernet cable. OK. Expected use. Technically incorrect.
