Are you talking about joists or the surface boards? Keep in mind that when you run floor boards diagonally you may get bounce and deflection if you are 24" on center. You have 270 sq/ft of surface to cover, a 2x6 is 5.5" wide and the space between the boards, if pressure treated is nil.

When installing decking on diaginal, get square footage of deck and multiply by 1.25.

    1. Convert feet to inches and multiply together. Then multiply by 1.25.

    2. Convert length of board to inches and mulitply by width.

Divide # 1 by #2. This will give u number of boards for that deck.

This will be enough to cover deck with waste allowance.

Framing should be 16'' on center.

Do you have too many "Multiply by 1.25." in you instructions?

That actually amounts to 156% of original deck area.
