It looks like 'winson'. Which doesn't meant a lot. When there are bulk paintings done of one scene (many people painting the same pic in a certain medium), the 'painter', can't call them artists in their own right, are allowed to sign the pictures.

What you get is an oil painting, acrylic painting, watercolor painting that has been copied from maybe an original, many times over. I don't think there would have been a patent that would have been adhered to.

It is a very attracive, well executed painting.

This is a very aged painting... you can tell by the discoloration of the back of the canvas.. Also looks as if there was a spotlight over the frame as a little brown circle has formed on the frame.. Does look to be VERY old... and original!!

Yes, it could very well be original, but unless it is a well known artist then it isn't worth much. Sorry. In the late l800s ladies of gentry (I am not picking up on the signature) painted because it was considered a good occupation for a lady of leisure (didnt lead anywhere, it couldnt). If it is oil, on canvas you can't clean it with a soft cloth warm water and a very small amount of dish soap very gently, to eleviate the colours. Don't soak, just damp wash.

We just bought one Wilson with a similar signature. I seem to recall now that there is a guy Wilson who does reproductions of art maybe Charles Wilson repros. The frame looks old and used staples on strecher haven't received the painting yet will try to have it authenticated, it is also impressionistic.

Hi, I also have a painting that I believe is from the same artist. It has the same signature and is a paris scene as well. All I know about the painting is that it came out of Pennsylvania where my uncle bought this one and three others by the same person. I haven't had contact with him in over ten years but would sure like to know who the artist is.
