    CA SDI Confusion
Hello out there and thank you for being here!

I have two jobs; one is a "regular" job via an employer, the other is self-employment. I was taken off work by my doc and am getting SDI (California). I have very minimal self-employment income. Do I report the self-employment income, and, if I do, does that reduce my SDI benefits (even though I've been receiving self-employment income prior to even obtaining the "regular" job)?

I am completely confused and am thankful for any input.

Yes you are suppose to report all income.
What type of self employed work do you do?

    Thank you for responding.

My self-employment is limited to some word processing work at home. Is the self-employment income deducted from the SDI benefits? I thought the benefits were determined based on my income at my "regular" job from which I have been taken off.

You know the government they want to know everything.
Do you get any kind of w2 or 1099 for the self employ work?

Yeah I think you better report it.

My son was making $800. A month and they cut him from $650. To around $150.

If you are under a certain amount for your taxes you may be able to file for earned income credit. I'm not sure if you can get that collecting Soc. sec. though
