Unless the local council (and you would need to check with them) has rules about the length of time overnight guests can stay there would be no rules on it.

Local council sounds like the UK, ScottGem. That's why I was asking. UK laws vary so differently from ours over here. Was there any harm in asking further regarding this issue ?
