We are looking at a high gloss laminate flooring but was told by the sales associate that they're awful in homes with dogs and will likely need repair in less than five years. Has anyone had experience with glossy LAMINATE flooring as far as wear and tear goes? I really prefer the laminate flooring with some sheen. We're looking at the Armstrong product line.

Dogs especially big ones can do a number on any floor unless it ceramic tile. As far as the sheen goes of course a shiny wear layer will be easier to dull and harder to keep up. Im with the salesman on this one. I would suggest a midrange as far as the sheen goes, what kind of dogs do you have ? What matters more than sheen to me is the thickness of the wear layer the thicker the better. If I missed anything or if you have more questions post back and let us know. GOOD LUCK,AC
