Laminate will handle pet accidents FAR better than carpet. My suggestion, though: Use the glue together kind rather than the snap together kind so that you've got a nice waterproof sealant (the glue) between the pieces.
I agree with Rickj. The laminate should have a tough finish similar to the industrial grade moisture curing urthane I have had on my stick built hardwood floor through housebreaking about 8 puppies.
If your dog is continuing to have accidents, post details, age, spay/neutered, etc. to the pets and animals area, and I should be able to help. If it is the cat, maybe others there can.
... just to add...
The major makers of laminate flooring have a range of quality. The cheapest will be basically compressed sawdust and the most expensive will be stuff so tough that it sends off major sparks when cutting it with a chop saw.
Don't try to save a few bucks by getting the cheapest.
Hi, I am about to lay laminate flooring in the bathroom, Problem, toilet pan is cemented to floor and I can not and will not consider "uprooting" it. How do I take the shape of the pan for cutting the laminate? Any help, without the surgestion of lifting the toilet, is desperately needed. Thank you.
Use cardboard to make a pattern. If it takes 10 tries to get it right, it takes 10 tries. Some times I will do a small detail on a separate piece and glue it to the bigger piece.
I always have plenty of empty beer cartons to use.
