I'm 16 years old and I think I'm ugly although a lot of adults tell me I'm pretty I still don't believe them. I never been kissied or been asked out and never hear a boy around my age say that I'm pretty.I am shy but around boys I'm not. What should I do?

Honey, you need to start with STOP thinking that you're ugly. Really all beauty is, is CONFIDENCE. Just because you haven't been kissed or never had a boyfriend doesn't mean your ugly. Do you know how many models are like 20 something and still have never had a boyfriend! Have you ever thought that maybe you are attractive and guys just get too shy around you to ask you out. Try asking a guy out yourself. Don't wait for them to come to you! So go out there and ask a guy out! Good luck!

Could be that you intimidate the boys because you are pretty.

Boys are just as insecure as girls, it's hard to approach someone. Your shyness may come off as being snobby, so they may think you're unapproachable.

Don't be so hard on yourself. We all go through the teen years, we all survive. :)

Boys are probably more insecure than girls... we have to constantly worry about the pressure of looking, behaving and coming across as a "guy." It is also the constant fear of rejection that we deal with as well. You are young and believe me the prime years of dating have yet to begin for you. As others have stated, you too can approach a guy as well. If I were you though I would be more concerned with enjoying the last couple years of high school and just have fun... guys love girls who know how to have a good time with or without a boyfriend.
