These are very powerful words. How do I know when to use them? I have a sister who is a single mother of a 23 month old. Who is living with a girl who is a known "dealer" I don't know what the girl "deals" in, however I am concerened for my nephews safety. The people that come and go from their place are questionable. Ever since this girl has came into my sisters life things have been changing. It is almost like she has control over her. She is no longer talking to the family. She speaks horribly to my mother when she does speak to her. Her child use to be her first priority. She has been a very proud single mother, until recently. She has begun to make poor choices, even when it comes to her child and that is what is concerning to me. I don't know what to do. She is also in the middle of a custody battle. The baby's father is suing for sole custody, I'm afraid. She won't listen to me. I am thinking do I need to make an anonymous phone call to children services? She doesn't seem to understand the seriousness of this situation. She is more concerned with her friends, who's coming over, where they are going, etc.

Any advice? Anyone had a similar situation?

I think your best bet would be to team up with the father if you think he is a more fit parent.
Calling Children's services they may or may not see the seriousness. They could send workers to her home and she could be on her best behavior, roommate not home, etc...
Then they close the case and say unfounded.
Then you are back to zero.

Well, I know this was just a movie, but The Glass House, with LeeLee Sobieski, she had gone to see someoen to report some sort of weird behavior that her new guardians were doing to her and her brother and children's services taking care of the case, sent a case worker out of the blue to sort of spy on the family. She just showed up unannounced so that nothing could be hidden. (of course in the movie the guardians already took care of the little problems before the case worker showed up). My point is, children's services may send a case worker out of the blue so that the roommate will not have time to leave and she will see if the environment is fit or not.
