Did you ( or do you know of someone ) who got pregnant on the pill or.
Hi everyone! Me And my hubby are wondering what's going on here. Last month, I didn't take any of my birth control pills (we both agreed we are ready) and although we weren't expecting anything to happen until later, I am maybe a week late. No symptoms really-a few days I had no appetite and nothing sounded good to me, but that has passed. Nothing else though. Neg. HPTs. I have a check up with my OBGYN Wednesday (good timing!) so I will ask her then about it. Anyway until then I will stay curious. Do you think it's just from just recently stopping the pills? Mostly I am wanting personal stories on people who have either gotten pregnant while on the pill, or shortly after going off. Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks!

I got pregnant on the pill, but it caused a miscarriage.

Pregnancy is a possibility, but coming off the pill can also create some crazy hormone fluctuations, so anything is possible.

A few friends got pregnant while on the pill, so yes, it can happen.

Chances are that your period is just off because you recently stopped taking the pill.

I'd try testing again in another 2 weeks if you don't get your period.

Or go to the doctor for a blood test.

    Good luck.

I got pregnant with my daughter while I was on the pill. It's definitely possible. However the pill is full of hormones, so that could just be throwing your body out of whack too. Good luck :D

    Missed my BC last month
For those of you reading this (thank you!) I posted maybe a bit over a week ago and more info is on that posting ( I'm on my phone so I can't type too much). Since I last posted, still negative pregnancy tests, including the one at the OBGYN. I have been having mood swings, crying very easily (abnormal for me). Really the only other thing I noticed (not sure if this is a pregnancy sign) I have for sure been having changes in my bowel function. I was going more frequently with softer stools (sorry). I heard constipation is a sign-but I don't know about this. For all who can't or are unsure how to look at my previous posting I missed all my BC last month. So is this a sign of pregnancy do you think? Or maybe from missing the pill? Thanks all!

Please do not refer us to other posts, that confuses people. ALL info needs to be contained in one post, this would have been more fitting as an update on the old post.

With that being said, how can you miss BC for a whole month? On accident, purpose? Have you taken a pregnancy test yet?

Okay - sorry I'm new and still not familiar with the site. I can keep that in mind for future postings. Anyway -

As stated in my OP, yes I took tests, they were negative. I should have clarified this was the first month I'm off them- we are going to begin our journey to start a family - I just was expecting it would take a while.

Once you stop the pill it can take a while to get back on track, also, symptoms can occur.

The only way to know for sure that you're pregnant is to get a positive result with an hpt or blood test, or give birth. ;)

Sadly, no one here can tell you what's going on, only your doctor can do that.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Just went off birth control, am I pregnant. Already?
Hey, everyone. Me and my husband decided to try to get pregnant. I went off birth control early July, not expecting to even conceive for a while after. However, my last period on BC was June 25, and I have yet to have another period. We have been having unprotected sex, so yes it's possible. I have taken HPTs and have been showing up negative. Would you guess my month-late period is from going off the pill, or is it possible for me to still be showing up negative even if I am? Thanks everyone! :)

If you have taken the test correctly, the accuracy is usually 99%.

Chances are you are experiencing irregularity from going off the pill.

That is very common for six months and sometimes up to a year.

I am in the same boat as you hun, I came off the pil the beginning of July when I hafd a normal period, I then had a light one 25 days later, I am now nearly a week late for my period and have had a negative test. But I was told off my doctor that it could tak up 2 6 months to get my body used to not having the pill. But it is not impossible as I know people that conceived a few eeks after coming off the pill x

Why do they want an ultrasound?
My last period ended on June 24th, it is now September 22nd and still no period. I was on birth control in June, and when my period ended on the 24th I did not continue my birth control only because I never really had time to get it, and honestly it just slipped my mind. Me and my husband were going to try to get pregnant soon, and I’m just wondering what's going on, why am I so late? I know birth control can do that but its been three months and still no sign of a period. So, I called my doctor and explained the situation and she explained that after three months of a missed period they begin to see that as ‘not normal’. So, she asked me to come in for an ultrasound and blood work (to check for thyroid – just had that done recently in the ER and my thyroid was fine). My question – (that I was too concerned when speaking to the nurse that I forgot to ask!) – why do they want to do an ultrasound? To rule out pregnancy? And if it is anything else what can they pick up on an ultrasound, what would they be looking for? Thanks!

This should be combined with your other threads on the same subject.

Have you or your Doctor done pregnancy tests?

And ultrasound can also be used to detect/diagnose tumors and growths - and I'm sure there are other purposes, too.

Sorry, don't know how to combine threads. My last test I took was about a month ago, and they were all negative.

It would be wise to take another pregnancy test at this time. As JudyKayTee said, the ultrasound can check for various growths, or abnormalities that may effect your cycles, but also determine pregnancy as well.

Since I stopped taking my pills, is it normal for a period to be this late, or is it something to be concerned about? Thank you for your help and your patience.

What constitutes normal for one person may not for someone else. Could it be your body still adjusting?. perhaps. Were your periods regular before you started birth control? Your period may even show up next week out of the blue. But your doctor is going to want to rule out any other possible reason, as she should. A pregnancy test and ultrasound would be the first places to start.
