I'm getting invaded by sweat bees
I'm having trouble with sweat bee's around my pool and through-out my yard. I usually have them around my pool which REALLY aggrevates me but lately, they're everywhere. 1) Why do I get them bad, around my pool especially, and 2 0 HOW DO I GET RID OF THEM? (I do live around a wooded area if that means anything.)

Don't know where you live, but here in Tennessee they are awful this year. I heard it's something to do with the rather cool summer that we have had. Don't know if it's true or not.

Actually, we haven't really had any HOT summer days other than today which was around 92 degrees. Yesterday was the first day I've seen them this year. I put a lot of chemicals in the pool Friday also so I don't know if this was the cause or could be the heat, the cool temperatures, the woods, etc... IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY!! (I live in southwest Pa.) Thanks for the response.

Speculation as to the high numbers of insects this year runs from wet springtimes to cool summers to increasing "green" activities by people.

As far as bees around your pool, you might consider zappers about 100 feet away, or blooming flowers around your fence. As they come to people for salt, a salt water fountain as a decoration might help, but those are very high maintenance.
