Was Judas's betrayal part of God's plan for salvation, so that Judas was doing God's will?
The betrayal was prophesied long before Jesus but then God knows the end from the beginning and so allowed Judas to make his choice. I don't doubt the plan would have been executed with or without Judas as the Jews were planning to kill Jesus anyway and all Judas did was facilitate it by telling them precisely where Jesus could be found
Judas was condemned to waundering the earth throughout eternity. How could that have been a benevolent god's will when he directed him to do the deed. That was a plan for salvation?? That direction was a god's will to prove that there was meaness and spite within humanity.

Here's a further thought for you wondergirl, the story of Judas tells us that all who walk with Jesus don't necessarily do so for the right reasons. Some do it for personal gain as Judas did, there appears to be evidence that he sought to gain financially from the ministry as we see some do today, and it is thought that he wanted Jesus to instigate a rebellion against Roman rule and so tried to force his hand but the reality is he is like most of us, a bystander in the events of history who really doesn't understand the implications of all that is happening
