I am an energetic 59 year old male, with random severe pain in knees or elbows. Small "nodes" are often discovered on lateral and rear knee tendons when pain is present. Elbow pain is acute and more prevalent with left than right elbow (I'm right-handed). Cholesterol and blood tests are well within limits. Tests for cysts, ligament tearing, and such are negative. Some arthritic build-up is present in the knees which will require scoping some day, none of which explains the elbow tendon pain issues, and randomness of joint pain all around. Tendon pain can be treated effedtively with glucosmine/condtroitin supplement. Available in health food stores and dosage is by weight. If you are losing sleep because of pain, I would suggest an anti-inflammatory. Joint pain caused by arthritis will definitely reflect on tendons as well. So, you treat one thing, that is the arthritis, which will reflect on the other.
