My husband is a LPR in USA,can he take me as dependent?
My husband was petition by his dad through F2B visa. When he got his green card, he went home to marry me.. can he take me to USA as dependent? If not, what do you think is the best and easiest way for me to be there?
He gave me 2 options, first,he will petition me now that he's only an immigrant and we think it will take 5 more yrs... next option, we'll wait for his US citizenship that will be 3 more yrs from now.. which do you think is the best idea? Please I badly needed an advice..
    Thanks and more power..

He cannot bring you in immediately as a dependent. The FB-2B visa classification is for the unmarried adult child of a permanent resident.

It doesn't matter significantly if he files the I-130 now or if you wait to file it after he becomes a US citizen, for total processing time. I would file it now if you do not plan on applying for any NIV to enter the US in the meantime. Filing the I-130 now would seriously impact your NIV issuance. It is still difficult to get an NIV as you are married to an LPR.

    Good luck.
