I have a trane furnace with a varible speed blower motor controlled by a processor that when asked to run will only rock back and forth and not acually run what is the most likely problem

There are special tools needed to test those variable speed motors. You cannot just take a guess because the cost of the parts are very expensive. I would check your warranty to see if it is still active.
