How do I change a pull out type of shower water knob with a turn handle type

I don't think you can do it. You will have to change whole body via cut opening in the wall. Can you get to it from behind ?

Before we get into tearing up walls tell us why you wish to replace it. Does it leak? Look crappy? What? What's the brand name of your valve? Hold old is it? Let me know, Tom
