I have an 20 year old Stanadyne (I've been told this is now Moen) bathtub fixures that still work but they don't look good anymore. Is there a way to have them refinished or repainted so they can look good again? I have tried polish and lime and calcium removers and industrial cleaners that didn't seam to help much. It's a polished brass golden color and its all pealed and discolored now. The metal is intact its just the coloring that is off. Its not corroded or rotted thrue and I believe I can still get another 20 yrs out of them I'm not sure how to describe the faucet other than it is a single-handle that I pull away from the wall and then turn right or left to adjust the water temperature. I looked in to purchasing new ones and a package is like aprox $600.00 mininum. Please help! Thanks

The nicest thing about Moen is that they don't ever were out. If the cartridge goes Moen will replace it for free and once you've replaced the cartridge you've rebuilt the valve. As for your Antique Brass finish, have you used Brasso on it? Good luck, Tom

Yes, there are places that will refinish your trim. But it is not cheap. You will be better off if you buy new trim. ID the brand first, Call manufacturer and ask them what trim will fit. They will tell you exactly what to buy. No guessing here...
