    Initiating to Skype
    Hey everyone!

I'm wondering whether I install Skype or not... If I do, what changes do I need to do to my computer. Is there any cable to connect to the phone line (does it require a phone, sorry, I know nothing of that stuff :o)and things like that. I'm completely new to Skype, I only know that it's a means of communication between mainly two computers.

Waiting for a response now :)

Skype is a computer base VoIP solution.
    Best of all it's free.
It's been designed with voice comms in mind, but can do all of the other IM functions, such as text chat and video as well.
You need a minimum of a 1mbps internet connection to make use of it.

Wait, you mean that I would not be able to use it with my 100 kbps connection? Or would it be ten times slower than it's good functioning?

Oh, that doesn't really matter, we don't have any webcam at home, we only need the telephone to be free for overseas computer calls. Do you think that will work?

I've made over seas calls using skype (comp to comp) with just the internet connection, which you obviously have, so you should be fine :)

Hmm, I'm not sure of where to download safely, do you have a trusted link, please? I'm on Linux Mint.
