    Mom and baby
My cat had her kitten early this morning. She only had one and baby and mom are fine. The kitten looks like it's dad. Iam wondering if she will have more. She has her own room so nothing will bother her. She is fine. She growls at me like a dog when I start to touch her baby.LOL Has anyone ever had a cat to give birth to only one baby?

Sometimes mom cat has the kittens over a space of time. She knows what she is doing, and please don't touch the newborn. That is very unacceptable to her and may cause problems with hercaring for it.

Kittens can be born hours, or even days, apart.

I wouldn't try to interfere with her while this is going on. She cleans up all afterbirth and washes little things off. Don't try to change the bed until she is absolutely ready to have a change of scenery. Don't worry about her not eating, she will eat when she feels the kittens are safe for the time being.

Make sure she does eat the afterbirth. If she doesn't then she won't go into labor with the next kitten. The afterbirth contains chemicals that triggers the next stage of labor. If you cleaned things up and threw away the afterbirth from the first kitten then you'll have to take her to a vet for her to have any others.
