My boyfriend and I intend to marry in turkey soon. Am I correct in thinking that we can then apply for a spouse visa?? If so the next issue is money... we need to be able to support ourselves financially and to prove this before the visa is granted , is that correct? How much of a bank balance would we need and does he need a uk job first. I live on benefits and have 3 children.

At the moment I live on benefits I have 3 sml children. I receive child tax credits, child benefit, housing benefit and income support. I'm planning to many a turkish man. He at first will not be able to work because he will need to apply for a visa. Will my benefits stop right away. Will I be entitled to claim any of the benefits I currently receive? Are their any other benefits I could claim??

In the USA
Once you are married they will determine it by his income depending on what your benefits are

If you are on social security I don't think it would effect it much if any.

If you are on welfare and section 8 they go by total household income.

I'm not sure how you receive EIC, if that is what you are referring to as child tax credits, because they always told me you had to have a paycheck to receive that.
