    High definition set top box
I have a high definition LCD television but it does not have an inbuilt HD tuner. My TV is 1080p definition capable. I intent to buy a high definition set top box for this TV. I want to be certain that the HD set top box I buy have the capability to compliment the 1080p feature of my TV. Could you please advice what is the most appropriate set top box for me to purchase. Thank you.

    Hi there.

You may want to add what country you are in to help with the answer.

But I think in general, in UK at least, HDTV is only 720p resolution. Which is still better than normal TV!
To get the 1080p benefit, you need to hook up a Blue-Ray player or your PC to the LCD and watch 1080p movies.
And most new games also use the 1080p resolution, so again, hook up the PC or games console.

That doesn't answer your question, but gives some info...

You may not have a choice in this. Most providers of TV signals (Cable etc.) require that you use a set top box that they provide.
