USFSPA & military pension division in a divorce
My lawyer is needing help with USFSPA & military pension division. She didn't realize it would be so complicated. Would prefer to get someone who could do just those portions for her but not spend a lot of money since I'm sure I'm paying for her being confused. Or would like someone who can give her some examples so she just needs to fill them in with my information if possible. Any help would be appreciated.

Complicated? Dividing a military pension is one of the easiest things there are to do in a divorce. You apply a simple time rule:

Total months of marital time over total months of service time divided by 2. There are a few things to be recited in the order but it's really easy.

If your lawyer cannot figure it out, fire her. Its her job to know.

Would you hire a mechanic that doesn't know how to fix a transmission if your car had transmission problems?
