Issues with where my wisdoms used to be
    HI there,

I had my wisdom teeth ((all 4)) removed four years ago. All of a sudden I'm getting soreness where one of them used to be, bottom right. And it is the same feeling I had when they were coming in. It seems kind of swollen in comparison to the other side. I was thinking maybe dry socket, since I smoke. But it's been four years, and everyone says that's not possible. And if that were the case I'm sure the pain would be more substantial. Anyway, please give me some insight. I don't have dental insurance for another two months.

It definitely is NOT dry socket at this point.

Could be a bone chip working its way to the surface. Rinse with warm salt water or tea tree oil and water, be sure you are flossing the back of the very last tooth in the arch. You could even try massaging some baking soda into the area on your fingertip.

Okay, thanks for all the advice. If that IS the case is that something that will need a dental visit?

It would depend on how much it bugs you. If it IS a bone chip it will work it's way to the surface, you might be able to grap it with tweezers to remove it yourself.

I had a bone chip about 15 years later come to the surface. Mine was a little big and needed a small procedure for it to come out. It happens. I would do as flossie said if possible wait the 2 month for your ins.
