Can athlete's feet make your pap smear results come back negative?
I need some input about this. I never of this, I was told this by my sister. She went to the clinic to get a routine pap. A few days or week later she received a letter in the mail for her to come in to take two or three large pills to get rid of an infection she has. That her partner was to take the pills too, because he possibly has the infection too. She said it was from athlete's feet because her and her husband share the same towels to dry off after bathing. I never heard of such thing happening. Or is she lying and she got a STD and she is not saying how she got it. I just need your thoughts or any ideas of this may be true.

    Sounds far fetched.
Athlete's feet is usually treated with a topical cream or spray.
A pap smear would not show athlete's foot, it would have needed to be discussed with the doctor at the appointment.

Athlete's foot is a fungal infection.

Theoretically speaking it could be spread to the vagina and emerge as a sort of thrush infection, I guess. Thrush or a variant of it may show up on a pap smear test. Men are often treated for these sorts of infections as well as their partner to avoid recurrence.

It would be unusual for this to happen. Google it on the internet and see what comes up.

She is full of . I went to medical school. She had a STD. Athletes foot is a tinea infection of the skin. It does not effect pap smears nor would it be something doctors would prescribe pills for. Sounds very much like gonorrhea to me. Who cheated on who?
