Can't find Dead mouse possibly causing maggots in kitchen
    Hello,

I can smell a dead mouse in my dining room area. My cat often chases mice in the house and kills them. I think she killed one and it crawled somewhere to die. I cannot locate the mouse. I now have small gray whiteish worms in and around my kitchen, especially sink which may be maggots. I do have some flies in the home as well. Please help me as this is disgusting. I keep my home clean and am so grossed out. The house was built in early 20's and we have always had a mouse problem. I am wondering if there is any way to at least locate a dead mouse and how to stop the worms in the sink and kitchen from reproducing. I have used cleaning products and am so grossed out that I can't even eat in my home. Funds are low and I own this home so I really need to fix this problem. Is there any other route to take other than bringing in a professional?
I am grateful for any assistance anyone can provide me. Thank you, Beth

This is going to be very labor intensive. That's why the pro's charge so much. You will need to go through everything in the dining room and kitchen until you find the carcass. I would highly recommend latex gloves and a painter's mask with some oil of wintergreen or spearmint oil on it for the smell (just 2-3 drops). Start where the larvae seem most numerous. Look into, behind, and UNDER everything. Have a plastic bag and an ammonia based cleaning spray handy for when you find it.
