    Legal eviction
I live in Philadelphia PA and I live with my boyfriend. It's my house, everything is in my name. He's been living here for about one year. I don't feel the relationship is progressing and I'm ready for him to leave. What are the proper steps to take to have him removed from the house?

First, simply ask him to leave. If you're ready to end the relationship, he may comply. Be prepared to give him a reasonable window of time to find a new residence, say 30 days. If he then refuses to leave and you still want him out, then you'll have to go through the eviction process. Depending on PA law, you'll have to file a motion with whatever court handles evictions in PA. The judge will then order him out in whatever time frame is provided for by PA law ; states seem to vary somewhat with this. If he still refuses to leave, then you contact the local sheriff and have his office enforce the eviction order by escorting him off the premises.
