I have an 8-year-old Philips 60"projection TV. It has always worked great, but yesterday the sound started going off and on. At times the sound is gone completely for a minute or more, then comes back, only to go off again. Sometimes the sound is just quieter, then goes back to normal. But it happens over and over again. I tried playing a VCR tape, and the same thing happened... sound off and on. Do you think it is worth calling a serviceman for an 8-year-old TV, or should I just bite the bullet and buy a new flat-screen TV? Thank you
