How To Hook Up A Vcr To Tv And Direct Tv Box
You should be able to figure this out with an instruction manual. By "box" I'm assuming you mean the box you hook up to your TV. If your vcr has 3 color-coded cables, plug them into the corresponding colored holes in the back. If you have 1 black wire with a pointy tip, screw it in to one of the holes with screw threads around it. I forget which one you plug it in to, but if you plug it into one and it doesn't work, try the other one. Just don't try any with something already plugged into it.
Hi Guido,
Leave the cable attached from the wall to the DirecTV box. Disconnect the cable that goes from your DirecTV box from the back of your television and connect this TV end to the "In from Antenna" on the back of your VCR. Then, as Worthbeads said, connect either the coaxial (Out to TV), RGB, or S-videos cable(s) to the back of your TV, whichever one you use.
One other note, make sure the TV is set to channel three (or possibly four in some rare cases) to use the VCR. I have Dish Network, which requires the TV to be set to channel 60, thus I have to switch it in order to use my DVD player.
Good luck. Take care. :)
Does the satellite box have to be on to do this ?Quote:
