What state are you in? I know in at least Ohio there are no laws against it, but other states might have different laws.

I don't know the laws where you are - I'm in the US - but I do think it will be good if you can make it a goal to get the children in different rooms very soon. Their privacy will be increasingly important. And in the meantime, make sure that they have privacy in other ways - have them take turns changing clothes in the room or bathroom, and consider giving them somewhere that they can put private items which is totally off limits to the other child like a box with a lock on it.

One option is to share your room with your daughter - separate bed (I'm guessing you are the mother?) and give your son his own room.

Both children are too old to share a bed with one another and you can get inexpensive beds... look online if you need another.

Best wishes... provide what you can, and be creative about finding ways to make it work.

You might have to put up some sort of screen as they are starting to go through puberty and privacy will be needed.. you should try and find a bigger house or you will need to do so soon as your kids will get bigger and they don't want to see their puberty problems together.

As for against the law you would need to look up your local laws.
