I have no clue what the Bible has to do with this. This is marriage. Talk about your issues, try new things, communicate your feelings... try that! God has nothing to do with your lack of sexual desire.
God also says other things, which get violated, mixed up and changed so don't take it to heart. Sex life during marriage does drop off, a lot. You hump like rabbits up until the "I do's" and then it's "I don't do that anymore" like a switch. But if you are having problems, try talking with your husband about it
The bible also says you can sell girl children into slavery or offer them to to guests for use in sexual favors. Just because the bible says you must have sex with your husband when he wants to have sex means nothing.
It depends. If you believe that you must 'perform' because the bible tells you so, then that might be the problem right there. Being obligated to have sex with your husband, doesn't give you much choice, it's just a 'duty'. Like cooking, cleaning, and birthing babies.
On the other hand, if you previously enjoyed sex with him, and feel that something is missing, thus the libido problem, and the fact that he doesn't turn you on, may indicate something more.
If you are able and comfortable discussing this conflict with your husband, then do so. While you feel obligated to have sex with him, explain that you are no longer satisfied, and feel the pressure to perform when you don't feel attracted to him, because, it really is all about him. It should't be.
If he insists on the interpretation of the bible, and your responsibilities to him when he wants sex, without any consideration for you, then you have two choices.
You either continue with what he wants, and stay miserable, or you step up, communicate you needs, and perhaps seek marriage counselling together to help with this issue.
If you continue to read the verse...
Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.
—Colossians 3:18-19
Clearly, forcing your wife to have sex would 'be harsh' for her. Would it not?
I suggest marriage counseling. Perhapes a sexual therepist/
How long have you been married? How old are you both?? Which bible are you referring to?? Do you have kids?
First you have misquoted the bible very badly. The bible talks about respecting each other, a husband loving his wife as Christ loved the church. It even talks about refraining for a season
If this was a prank post merely to stir up trouble, how bored we must be today. If someone is telling you these things, not sure what bible you are using, most certainly not mine when you read all of it
Well, God didn't address that little dilemma now, did he? Pardon my sarcasm, but that's one of the biggest ways we mortal humans go wrong ; wanting God to adjust to us rather than us adjusting to him. You know what the biblical admonishment is and if there were supposed to be any exceptions they'd be included. As far as your "libido not working" you could talk to your physician. Also don't underestimate the power of prayer. It's often difficult to do God's will but never impossible.
How can a husband not turn on the wife... come on!
Exodus 21:7-11 When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment.
pleasing the man who bought her is generally read as providing sexual favors. and i think the fact that men were allowed to sell their daughters into slavery is pretty clear.
Genesis 19:8 "Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes"
having not yet known men means that they are still virgins. he is offering his daughters up to a crowd of angry men to do with as they will in order to protect his male guests.
Leviticus 27:3-7: "And thy estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old, even thy estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver... And if it be a female, then thy estimation shall be thirty shekels. And if it be from five years old even unto twenty years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels. And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver. And if it be from sixty years old and above; if it be a male, then thy estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels."
once again, i think the fact that men were allowed to sell their daughters is more than clear in this passage.
Judges 22-25 While they were enjoying themselves, some of the wicked men of the city surrounded the house. Pounding on the door, they shouted to the old man who owned the house, "Bring out the man who came to your house so we can have sex with him." The owner of the house went outside and said to them, "No, my friends, don't be so vile. Since this man is my guest, don't do this disgraceful thing. Look, here is my virgin daughter, and his concubine. I will bring them out to you now, and you can use them and do to them whatever you wish. But to this man, don't do such a disgraceful thing." But the men would not listen to him. So the man took his concubine and sent her outside to them, and they raped her and abused her throughout the night, and at dawn they let her go.
even though the daughter was spared in this passage she was offered to the men, and the concubine was not so lucky.
The old testiment laws were abandoned by the blood of christ hon...
But this isn't the christianity form, lets open a thread up there for this?
