    14 y/o and 17 y/o dating?
I'll be 18 in October and this boy will be 15 in October. We are both gay and we both like each other but he just finally told me that he is 14 at the moment and not 15 which is what he told me. He is the first guy to meet everything I'm looking for and when he told me this, I was crushed. He'll be going to my school this year as a sophomore and I'll be a senior. Would it be weird for us to date? I don't want to do anything illegal which is why when I thought he would be 16 in October I thought that would be okay because in Michigan a 16 and 18 y/o can have sex. Now I'd have to wait another year which I don't mind waiting if I have to, but for the 1 year if we did date would it be illegal if we kissed and just hugged and such? His parents know he's gay, and are cool with it. Do you think if his parents like me and are okay with me dating their son, should I go through?

In all honesty, although I don't mind waiting a year to have sex with him if we are even around that long, but I know that if he did want to do something I don't think I'd be able to say no.

As far as illegal it can be illegal for a 14 yr old to have sex but it doesn't seem to stop many 14 year olds. I think in some states it is legal as long as you are both minors BUT you also need to consider the long term issue if your relationship lasts like two years from not you would be going on 19 and he would be going on 16 which may or may not be illegal in your state.
Also consider he is only 14 and his family might have fits over it.

I think it might be safer waiting more than a year depending on your state law.

***Here are some things I found

    Michigan:
Disregard of consequences or the recognized rights of others, or by the use of force upon another person in attempting sex relations of either a heterosexual or homosexual nature, or by the commission of sexual aggressions against children under the age of 16.

I've checked and a 16 y/o can have sex with anyone else who is 16+. So a year would be the minimal I'd have to wait if I was on a timeline.

Yeah from what I can see when you turn 19 and him being under 18 doesn't seem to have a law against it in Michigan.

If I see me and him being together as just a sophomore and a senior imo that doesn't sound to bad. I know many friends that dated someone 2 grades older or younger. But when it's put into terms of age it seems a bit more weird imo. When he originally told me he's 15 atm that would only be a 2 year difference and then he would be turning 16 in October. But he through me off when he said he's 14.

You can date, but sex, no, for that you'd have to wait.

He's only 14, that 3 year gap is huge right now in terms of maturity.

Yes, you can date. Hugs, kisses, are okay.
Yes it would be "weird", any relationship in high school that isn't your schoolyear is "weird" and causes excessive ammounts of drama.

That being said, I advocate abstinence. You can do everything you want dating, but I don't see why you should have to worry about sex. Your relaionship should mean to you more than jumping to thinking about sex anyway.
