Can the just the officers of a nonprofit organization override the Board?
Our dance club has a Board of Directors of seven, four of whom are the President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. Can the President call a meeting that excludes the other Board members, create and change policies by vote from his executive committee and make them enforceable to the entire club?

What do the by-laws of your Dance Club stipulate? That's where you need to go to get the answer to your question.

    Hello f:

Instead of just asking a yes or no question, why don't you tell us what happened, what your relationship is with the board, and what you would like to do about it?

Then, maybe we can help you better.

The president can call a meeting of the executive committee without notice to the board of directors, unless the by-laws provide otherwise.

What powers are delegated to the executive committee in the by-laws?

Normally the board of directors can over-ride whatever policies this executive board adopts.
