    AND
Also is it possible if ONE PC runs winxp PRO and the other winxp HOME?

I have never used Remote Assistance in Windows XP but I have used a 3rd party software called Remote Administrator available at www.radmin.com

I've used several of the other competitors but this one is the fastest and most reliable. Its speed during remote control is literally just like sitting in front of the computer that you are accessing. It is that fast!

OK, here's a little something that may help:

    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro...sist.mspx#EHAA

I don't know why they don't have anything about the shortcut you can access from the start menu. When you load link, you'll just get a Remote Desktop Assitance window with one text box and a few buttons. All you should have to do is enter the computer name (e.g. FAMILYDESKTOP) or an IP address (e.g. 192.168.0.2). Then just hit connect.

As for your question about connecting between Win XP Pro & Home. That should be fine.

    Anyway, hope that helps.
