My Rights to my child as a Paternal Father
My name was not put on the birth certificate, because I didn't know of my child's birth. I would like to get legal rights to my child, but don't know where to start.

You would have to go to family court and ask that a paternity test be done. Then once it is proven to be your kid then you go from there

Best to start by getting an attorney. Without any details, its hard to advise you. We would need to know things like what area you live in (US State if you are in the US). How old is the child? Is any father listed on the birth certificate. Was the mother married when she gave birth. And maybe more.

You have to go to probate court and tell them you would like to legitimate your child. They will have you to take an oath stating this is your child and you will have rights as father. It is probate court in some places but if its not where you live they can tell you were to legitimate your child Good Luck
