    Can Australian PC games work in the UK?
    Hi,

    I was wondering if someone can please answer the above question for me. I am moving to the UK at the end of the year and I was wondering if my Australian PC games will work on computers in the UK. To be more specific, my computer is a Dell Dimension 3100 and the computer that I will be using in the UK is also a Dell Dimension 3100, however, the latter was made in the UK. So will my Aussie games work in the UK?

    Thanks for your time

    Yep, sure can. A PC is a PC and the software on it doesn't care where it is.
    The only things you'll need to worry about are;
    1) getting a UK power cable to plug your PC into the wall. Or get an Aust to UK Adapter.
    2) new modem / broadband plug connection. If you are currently on a dial up or ADSL connection, the phone connections in the wall are different in the UK too.

    Gekko,

    Sorry but I'm not sure if you interpreted my question correctly. I won't be taking my Australian computer over to the UK. Once I arrive in the UK I am using my friends UK computer therefore there is no need for Aus/Uk Adapter. So will my PC game work on a UK made computer?

    Thanks for the response

    So you're asking about DVD-Regions...

    I've used games in different regions of the world.
    PC Games / Software are region free, so you'll have no problems.

    Yes they do have regions and some games are restricted to what country they can be played in.

    My example: My mum bought me the game Dungeon Keeper from America and because it was a different region I could not play it.

    Yea it should work, I live in the united states and I am able to play ashes cricket 09 and Australian rules football 2005, very few games are region coded for PC unless the game fails to achieve a rating for violence sexual content etcetera on the rare occasion a game is coded there are progammes online that should by pass the region setting because computers don't use the PAL / NTSC codec
