No hot water in the bathtub
I have one handle in the tub for hot and cold water but it only gives me cold water and the hot water works very well in the bathroom sink, how do I fix this?

    Hi Sheiky:

The valve gives no hot water at all.. If so then the valve body, the cartridge (or washers), or the shutoff associated with the valve may be plugged. Here, you would shut off the water supply into the valve and open the valve 1/2 way to relieve pressure. Then you would remove the handle and trim plate and expose the valve body.

After the valve body is exposed you will want to remove the parts to expose the inside of the valve body. You would then inspect the parts for anything obvious (such as a washer dislodged) and then put a towel over the valve while someone turns the water back on for a quick burst to blow the pipes clear. Reinstall the parts and turn the water back on to see if that fixed it. If so great! If not, then most likely the cartridge assembly (or washers) needs to be replaced.

If you can give us a name brand we may be able to tell you more...
