Hi all, I'm 9 weeks post partum and for the last few days I have had menstrual like cramping in my tummy and back, so yesterday I went to the loo and when I wiped there was a tinge of pink on the toilet paper, then nothing all day, and today when I really wipe hard, there is brown blobs and streaks of old blood, is this my period starting after giving birth? :)

Could be the start of it, but might also be just older blood from the lochia. Some women have their "normal" period return several weeks after birth, others will find it takes a couple of months or so to get back to normal. When breastfeeding it can be off even longer.


See what happens over the next several days, but it is not unusual for you to not have it return just yet.

Unfortunately I got my period back 6 weeks post birth despite breastfeeding between 12-20 times a day so yep, it could be your period.

Sounds like it could be your period starting again,if your concerned speak to your mw or hv.
